We
are still operating in a difficult market and we have seen
the effect of this with the failure of a number of manufacturers
and distributors through the first quarter of 2011. Strangely
however it feels as though things are getting busier, with
plenty of activity and enquiries coming from the commercial
and educational sectors in particular. Market figures
have suggested that the first quarter has been rather flat
and in addition April was unusually short due to the Royal
wedding and Easter weekends, which may have affected the
volume of orders placed during that month.
Despite these factors we have
experienced a terrific response to the introduction of more
choice in our seating portfolio, both with new ranges and
increased specifications in response to the trend of persistent
price pressure on task seating. The Buzz
and Mesh
chairs in particular have provided plenty of value for money
options, while at the same time offering enhanced specification,
as a result of the changes we made in January this year.
Our furniture portfolio has
also undergone a strategic review to ensure it continues
to offer the very best package for our customers.
Interestingly, while we have seen the expected price pressure
affecting volumes within the middle to lower end of the
market, we have simultaneously experienced increased activity
around our premium products, particularly
DNA and our veneered portfolio.
These customers believe that product quality, flexibility
and longevity are also important factors. They demand
first class service levels, both before and after the sale
and they are still prepared to pay a slight premium for
these factors.
We believe that Verco manufactured
product, backed with the superb service from our dealer
partners provides this winning combination and importantly
will continue to do so through the continuing difficult
times ahead !

new VERCO resource discs
Following
the launch of many NEW products in 2011, we have updated
our resource CD with all our new photography. Each
CD now contains our product images in low resolution
RGB JPEG format; ideal for electronic presentation
and quotation purposes. Computer renderings and line
drawings are also included along with low resolution
files of our current price lists, brochures and mini-brochures.

We are pleased
to advise that as part of our ongoing
improvements to our web site we have recently
removed the need to use a password in
order to download images etc. from the
site.

improved access means that anybody visiting the
'DOWNLOAD' section of our site can now access
the following, without the need for any passwords
or inputting any personal information;

We still have a 'DEALER'
section within our web site, which is still password
protected, this area contains details of; price
lists, any special deals we might be running, stock
option, design services etc. as well as the ability
to download this literature, high resolution images,
3D CAD Blocks and Assembly Instructions.
We believe that this
change will make it even easier for all our
customers to access and use our product images in
their presentations and to increase sales opportunities
